Undelete Files
When a file is “deleted” from a windows hard drive, it doesn’t magically disappear; it is not removed from the drive, nor is it immediately overwritten. Simply stated, when deleting a file, the file listing is removed from the directory and the space that the file was occupying is now being presented to the windows operating system as available for other files to be saved to the hard drive.
Anything (no matter how small or insignificantly seeming) that is written to the drive could potentially write to the space that was holding the data you hope to recover. Once a file has been overwritten it cannot be recovered.
A cardinal rule for a deleted file data recovery is that you must stop using the computer disk that contains the files you want to recover. If you attempt a software data recovery for deleted files, it is important that the software be run from a separate physical drive. Also, never save anything to the original drive you are trying to recover, you could overwrite the files you are trying to recover. The integrity of the original drive and data structure must be preserved in case the software recovery does not work.
Data Recovery Group has been recovering deleted files and other lost data for over
twenty consecutive years (since 1986). Our data recovery professionals are experts
at tracing and re-assembling files and in many cases are able to recover data that
has been declared un-recoverable by others.
